I just got off the phone with the dealer who had my engine out a few weeks ago, the mechanic said he wasn't able to get the sensor out so he had pulled the whole bracket to do what he needed to do. They seemed to think that the only way to get it off would be either with an air hammer, which would destroy the sensor, or by removing the whole bracket and pressing it out, which would also destroy it. They quoted me 415$ for the new sensor and 120$ labor via air hammer method, 260-300$ if they have to pull the bracket. RockAuto.com has this sensor: STANDARD MOTOR PRODUCTS Part # PC24 {CAMSHAFT SENSOR} which it says is for the 90' VGDETT for $295, is that the same thing as OEM? or should I just order through the dealer?
